Our Fees
At Runway Wealth Management, our advice is founded on core values of trustworthiness, honesty and fairness. We are transparent with our fees and believe quality financial advice for Australian Expats should be accessible.
We understand that everyone’s financial situation is unique. For this reason, the cost of our financial advice is determined by the scope and complexity of the advice we provide. We are committed and obliged to ensure our clients understand all costs associated with our services.
Initial Consultation
There is no fee for an initial consultation. Once you submit your online enquiry, a Financial Adviser will review your enquiry and email you an invitation to book a complimentary consultation at no cost to you. Your initial consultation with Runway Wealth Management will be an obligation-free Discovery Call where your Financial Adviser can learn more about your situation and advice needs and determine whether our services are suitable for you. Our Discovery Call typically runs for 25-30 minutes. However, further consultations may be available if required.
Statement of Advice (SOA)
We charge a Statement of Advice preparation fee which will depend on the complexity of your individual circumstances and the type of advice you require. The SOA preparation fee charged by Runway Wealth Management generally ranges from AUD 3,300 to AUD 6,600 depending on the number of services included and level of complexity. The SOA fee is an upfront fee to cover the costs associated with preparing your advice document and is usually charged in two instalments. The SOA is the document used to communicate our recommendations to you. It explains how following the recommendations will improve your financial position, and details all fees to allow you to make an informed decision as to whether you follow our advice.
Ongoing Fees
We charge a monthly adviser service fee that is debited from your advised account(s). This ranges from 0.55% p.a. to 1.1% p.a. and is calculated only on the value of your advised accounts, such as superannuation and/or investment accounts. The fee covers any advice provided in relation to property and other financial matters. Our ongoing adviser service fee has a tiered structure, providing you with a discount as your account balance grows. For example, if your advised account balance is $250,000 and our fee is 1.1% p.a., your total annual cost would be $2,750 (this does not consider any changes to the account value). There may be other fees and charges payable to product providers when following our advice (e.g. fees payable to your super fund). These fees will be detailed in your SOA. The ongoing services you receive will be based on your personalised strategy. All clients benefit from a core set of standard services, including access to a dedicated adviser, regular review meetings and strategic consultations as needed, portfolio management in line with your strategy, and comprehensive taxation and performance reporting.
Why we use a percentage-based fee for our ongoing advice services
Our primary commitment is to act in your best interests and provide ongoing value that is aligned with your evolving financial needs. We use a percentage-based fee rather than a fixed dollar amount for our ongoing advice services as it offers a fair, flexible and value-aligned model. A percentage-based structure means you can clearly see the cost in relation to the value of your investments. Importantly, fees are typically debited monthly from your investment or superannuation platform. This ensures convenience, without impacting your cash flow. Our fees are fully disclosed, straightforward, and easy to understand. As your financial position grows, your situation usually becomes more complex, resulting in the scope and depth of our services often expanding. A percentage-based model reflects the increased time, expertise, and attention required to manage a more sophisticated portfolio. It also allows us to maintain a highly personalised service offering rather than applying a one-size-fits-all fixed cost. Ongoing financial advice is not a static, transactional service. It is a dynamic, continuous relationship. From adjusting investment strategies, navigating superannuation and retirement planning, to responding to changes in markets, regulations, or your personal circumstances, our advice adapts with you. A percentage-based fee reflects this ongoing, value-driven approach and removes the need for clients to approve additional invoices or hourly charges each time they need support. Should you have any questions or would like to discuss the value of ongoing advice further, please feel free to reach out.
Commissions on Services or Financial Products
At Runway Wealth Management, our Financial Advisers do not receive any commissions. Runway Wealth Management is a fee-only financial planning firm. We are remunerated only through the upfront and ongoing service fees charged to our clients. Financial Advisers are prohibited from receiving commissions, benefits or payments when recommending financial products to clients. The only exception to this is when an insurance product is recommended and in this circumstance, a Financial Adviser may be paid by the insurer.
